Thank you. I wish I heard this earlier this week. I’m currently in between jobs and though I’ve been praying, I don’t think I had the trust part down. I’m realizing trust also is important when it comes to God’s timing and whether or not you are running on God’s power or your own.
If you trust God, you’ll wait for his timing for whatever you ask. A lot of times I’ve found myself pray and then not wait for God to respond and it doesn’t end well. Sometimes you have to wait and God will do his thing one way or another. Other times I try to do things under my own power and strength when things would have gone so much easier if I allowed the Lord to encourage me. Sometimes God just wants you to stop and listen but we can’t cause we don’t trust enough to do so.
I definitely know God spoke through you to me. Thanks for the podcast; I came to your site because I’m trying to become a WP developer and I’ve seen you on WPSE. I came for the tutorials on and I’m staying for the wisdom.
This is the kind of feedback that keeps me doing the podcast. I’m glad it was able to help, and I hope you’ll continue listening.
I know how hard it can be to sit between jobs. I spent about 6 months looking after parting ways with one company, and it was a very stressful and depressing time. The thing that got me through it, actually, was the home group I was a part of. It was actually sponsored by a separate church, but included some amazing individuals who wouldn’t hesitate when a friend needed help or prayer. They helped me move past my frustration and encouraged me as I finally landed a job interview and, subsequently, a job.
It’s easier to trust God when you can see him working in your life. And it’s easier to do that if you surround yourself with other believers who are also trusting in God and lifting you up as you do the same. He never stops walking beside us, but sometimes it takes another friend to remind us that yes, He really is still there, we just need to recognize it.
